Spring Fling: Tail of the Dragon

May 4

Hunter Volvo Cars Asheville, North Carolina

Meet-up and scenic drive—a family event.

Organized by the VCOA Blue Ridge Chapter.

The Tail of the Dragon refers to the serpentine 11 miles of U.S. 129 between Deals Gap and the Tabcat Creek Bridge. More than 300 turns!

Convene at Hunter Volvo Cars in Asheville at 8:30 am in the front parking area. We’ll drive the Dragon in flights of 4-5 cars, have lunch along a branch of the Tennessee River. Afterwards, make our way to the West Tubing Company (Brasstown, N.C.) and dine alongside the river whilst tubers shoot the rapids.

Bring your family, grandkids swimming togs (water is chilly), and a jacket. Bluegrass music by a local band is not uncommon at the Tubing Company. So come and relax.

RSVP to Bob Sepe () required. Place The Tail in the subject line, include your name, what car you’ll be driving, and your contact info.

PS Stay over in Murphy, N.C. and “ride” the river in a tube on Sunday. Or send the grandkids and you wait at the lodge for their return. Such fun! Don’t get no better than this!!!!
