Well, you've probably noticed by now that things look a little different around here. You are a keen observer!

The whole site is new and that includes all of the software that drives this forum. With probably over 10,000 settings and hundreds of back-end programs trying to talk to one another, there are bound to be a few glitches that we haven't discovered yet. So, if you happen to stumble upon anything that just doesn't seem right, give us a shout and we'll try to sort it out.

Thanks for using the VCOA Forum and enjoy the new look!

On bumpy roads at low speeds the rear hatch squeaks. Drives me crazy.

We tried silicone lube on the entire rubber door weatherstrip, silicone greased the hard rubber contact points and checked the fit of the stowage cover, the stowage tray and the hold down parts for the spare - all to no avail.

All three segments of the back seat were laid down and back up and the squeak remained. It appears to emanate from the very rear and the hatch seems to be the source.

Anyone know the cure?

The cure? I could make the squeak go away by removing both hearing aids.

Looks like you are not alone (see message #79)...

Are the strikers adjustable enough to cinch the hatch down tighter on the seals?

Lucky solution!

Simply put a dab of grease between the latch "hook" and "striker plate" at the direct contact point and - voila !

So easy. So simple. So hard to admit I was missing such an obvious solution :)

Repeat after me: duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh!
