Well, you've probably noticed by now that things look a little different around here. You are a keen observer!

The whole site is new and that includes all of the software that drives this forum. With probably over 10,000 settings and hundreds of back-end programs trying to talk to one another, there are bound to be a few glitches that we haven't discovered yet. So, if you happen to stumble upon anything that just doesn't seem right, give us a shout and we'll try to sort it out.

Thanks for using the VCOA Forum and enjoy the new look!

Have #380164 Speedo Gear, but it appears to be 1" too long. Original was lost in rebuild.

Any suggestions on:
Proper installation
Correct Part # (for 1958 PV444 B16)

Thanks,
Roger

Welcome to the Forum, Roger.

The correct Part NUmber is 88116 and looks like this...

volvoonderdelen.com/images/Volvo_88116.JPG

The gear fits in the M4 tail housing and can be installed from the outside.

Look through all those unused rebuild parts for a rertainer plate and bolt.

88116 is available here...

tinyurl.com/m4blevh

...but this is an overseas order with $$$ ship.

George - Thanks for input & photo. Looks like just the right size. Unfortunately, Scandcar is out of stock. They hope to have more next year? I have enjoyed my PV444 for 20+ years, expect I can wait. Roger

Meanwhile, look through this...

vcoa.org/images/docs/Rolling_Jan-Feb_10lo-res.pdf

...and note the many Volvo providers listed as selling new/used parts for classic Volvos.

Many do not do the web so a phone call is needed.

Good luck.
