Well, you've probably noticed by now that things look a little different around here. You are a keen observer!

The whole site is new and that includes all of the software that drives this forum. With probably over 10,000 settings and hundreds of back-end programs trying to talk to one another, there are bound to be a few glitches that we haven't discovered yet. So, if you happen to stumble upon anything that just doesn't seem right, give us a shout and we'll try to sort it out.

Thanks for using the VCOA Forum and enjoy the new look!

Hullo everyone.

I am a former VCOA member from my days in Portland, OR when I worked at a Vlvo dealer up there and then transferred to southern CA chapter in about 2002.

My membership lapsed mostly due to culture shock in LA. Cars are hard to have fun with here if you like space to tear them apart and rebuild. Also my sweet '72 142 got rear ended when i got it down here so I gave up on vintage for a while.

Well, I'm BACK!

I currently own;
1971 142e (Portland) B20E/M41
1970 142s chassis being prepped for vintage race (Portland) Probably B23(2.65L)/M47 LH2.4 but not yet
1970 145 converted to 2 door recently purchased from a Sacto area Volvo guy. B20F/m40 for now.
1991 240 Wagon (LA) B230/M47
1966 Ford F250 4x4 (Portland) 352/3spd/D60/D44
2006 Mini Cooper S R53 (LA) 1.6L SC/6spd
1967 Jeep CJ5 (LA) Dauntless/T86/D18/D44/D27

And now that I've listed those I think I better sell something, ugh.

I guess only half of them are insured and then only half those a driven much...

Anyway, I'm hoping to fire up my car hobby again and get involved in the SoCal Volvo scene although most of us seem to be in San Diego (can't blame you guys).

cheers
George

Hello again, George;

Hmmmm - are you the same George Reddick who left Oregon for Hollywood?

Seems like San Diego County has a VCOA Chapter - really?...

vcoa.org/club-overview/chapters/chapters-by-state/77

All y'all SoCal folks should pool resources and host a really big 3-day VCOA National Meet given that Barton can plan such in his sleep.

Let's roll!

Hello George,
This is indeed George "hollywood" Reddick

Probably making my way back to Portland in a year or 2. But I have been saying than for 3-4 years now.

Thanks for the event link. I'll try to check it out.

I'm also trying to exert discipline on myself and keep a good record of my current car builds so I can get a couple of useful posts on the
Any forums I'm always trollin for other peoples builds.

I'll update when I get it going.
