Well, you've probably noticed by now that things look a little different around here. You are a keen observer!

The whole site is new and that includes all of the software that drives this forum. With probably over 10,000 settings and hundreds of back-end programs trying to talk to one another, there are bound to be a few glitches that we haven't discovered yet. So, if you happen to stumble upon anything that just doesn't seem right, give us a shout and we'll try to sort it out.

Thanks for using the VCOA Forum and enjoy the new look!

Hello,

I have been doing a bit of research online, on and off the forums trying to understand the engine code. I know that I have a B18 in my '66 with the twin SU carbs.
I just don't understand how to know which B18 I have.

What numbers on the block should I be looking for?
Here is what I see stamped:

4368 B18

JBG
418201

Thank you for your help

Welcome to the Forum.

If your Volvo Amazon 122S P120 (4-door sedan) is in its original configuration and is a USA version it has B18D with twin SU HS6 carbs.

Below are some info links. "Amazon" refers to the 122 but the name was in conflict with another entity in the USA so we use the 122 moniker.

Consider visiting the Gallery and posting more pics of your Volvo(s).

Does the Amazon have a name?

Thanks George,

Its actually a 2 door — and both of them are noisy enough — can't imagine having 2 more!

Yes, her name is Daisy.
