EURO AUTO FESTIVAL

July 6, 2008 Important Eurofest Update

You’ll now find the Eurofest registration form available in the link provided on this page. The fee structure at Eurofest is somewhat different than VCOA meets have been in the past as they offer an ala carte menu of activities: Registration to the car show enters those cars in the judging according to classes established by Eurofest and VCOA for Eurofest awards. VCOA members entering in the car show will also be eligible for additional VCOA only awards and other club activities. Registration for the Car Corral is for cars not being judged and/or for sale only. The Autocross fee is to enter an autocross in ones own car. Fees listed under Performance Center Driving Events allow the registrant to drive BMW provided cars in those activities. A portion of the Performance Driving Event fees is forwarded to the Eurofest charity. In 2007 the Euro Auto Festival donated $70,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. You’ll also see that the Friday and Saturday evening “food” events are separately selectable and priced as is the Sunday rallye.

Just announced: The keynote speaker for Saturday's banquet will be Lars Erik Lundin, recently retired VP and General Manager of Volvo Monitoring & Concept Center, Camarillo, CA. Lars has held varied positions at Volvo Cars since 1972 mainly in product development functions Starting as a test engineer in chassis development, later Director of Product Management for the New Car program (850) leading to his final role as VP and Gen Manager, VMCC. Lars spends much of his free time racing a Volvo 240, piloting gliders, off-road and Enduro biking on his Husaberg FX470e and mountain biking his Cannondale Super V. You'll not want to miss his comments & presentation during Saturday evening's banquet.

Please Note: The specially priced rooms available at the Marriott are going fast - over half of them are already booked, so don't hesitate any longer to book yours.
